Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter have reached the second round of qualifying for the US Open with two comfortable victories
18 year old Raducanu, took just 61 minutes to breeze past the Dutch woman Bibiane Schoofs s 6-1 6-2.
If Raducanu makes it through her opening round, she will face either 19-year-old Daria Snigur, currently ranked world No 207, or 23-year-old world No 167 Miriam Bolkvadze
Boulter, who is 190th in the world, beat Gabriella Price 6-3 6-2.
Jodie Burrage and Harriet Dart also won their first-round matches while Liam Broady advanced in the men’s section.
Burrage, 22, claimed a 6-4 6-1 win against American Robin Montgomery while Dart battled past Peyton Stearns 6-3 4-6 6-3.
Broady won 6-4 6-1 against Japan’s Tatsuma Ito.
What Raducanu & Boulter must do next for the US Open
Players must come through three rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw of the US Open, which begins on 30 August.
Raducanu enjoyed a memorable run to the fourth round of Wimbledon before against Ajla Tomljanovic. Her tournament was cut short to breathing difficulties.
She, Boulter and Burrage are all bidding to reach the main draw at Flushing Meadows for the first time.
Fellow Briton Francesca Jones won her first match on Tuesday, beating American Elizabeth Mandlik 3-6 6-0 6-3.
